Dr. Victor Pentz, Peachtree Presbyterian Church - Reverend Vic Pentz’ call into the ministry came amidst the campus tumult of the 1960’s as he led his Intervarsity Christian Fellowship chapter at Pomona College. Today his passion for Scripture comes out in the way he applies God's timeless truth to current events and everyday life. Sprinkled through his sermons are allusions to his many interests: sports, hiking, cycling, food, travel, history, and popular culture. Vic grew up in Southern California, is an alumnus of Princeton Theological Seminary and received his doctorate from Fuller Seminary. Among his many pastoral experiences are preaching to the President of the United States, serving as chaplain to the crew of three space shuttle launches at Cape Canaveral, serving as chaplain to the world’s largest rodeo and running an evangelistic beach ministry to Southern California surfers.
Vic has taught preaching at Fuller Seminary and has been featured as a speaker at conferences and workshops in the US and around the world. Vic tries to walk his talk as a missional believer and was named Atlanta Police Department’s Citizen of the Year in 2006. Known for his love of Atlanta, he often says, “I wasn’t born here, but I got here as fast as I could.” As PPC's staff leader, Vic loves pulling together teams of people who dream God-sized dreams and then step out in trust that God will make them happen. Vic and his wife, Becky, a professor at Emory University's Winship Cancer Center, have three grown daughters, Sarah, Jessica and Amy.
